Lumea Candle Lamps are designed for use with Lumea Liquid Wax Candles only. The use of a traditional wax candle or a tealight can cause additional heat stress, resulting in a lamp cracking or breaking.
-
Lumea Liquid Wax Candles should only ever be used in the Candle Lamps for which they are intended. If you are in doubt about the correct size of Liquid Wax Candle you should use in a Lumea Candle Lamp please contact Lumea.
-
Carefully remove the safety cap covering the wick on the Liquid Wax Candle and place it inside the assembled Candle Lamp.
-
Never pull out the Liquid Wax Candle wick to increase the size of the flame. All wicks are preset to ensure maximum burn times, changing the length of the wick will decrease the burn time and cause sooting.
-
Place the Candle Lamp on a heat-resistant, level surface and ensure it is stable and upright before lighting.
-
Liquid Wax Candles burn best in still air. Try to ensure a draft-free burn zone where the Candle Lamp is placed, away from open windows, doors, fans or other draughts. This will ensure optimal burn hours and superior performance for the Liquid Wax Candle.
-
Never burn a Liquid Wax Candle in close proximity to flammable materials, such as curtains, table linen or napkins.
-
Always take care when lighting the Liquid Wax Candle. If possible, use a long-handled match or butane lighter. Once lit, allow a few seconds for the flame to establish.
-
Never leave a burning Liquid Wax Candle Lamp unattended.
-
Keep all Liquid Wax Candle Lamps out of the reach of children – whether lit or not they can pose a hazard.
-
Never drink from a Liquid Wax Candle. Paraffin wax is harmful if ingested, particularly for young children (under 36 months). If you suspect ingestion has occurred, do not induce vomiting, offer plenty of water to drink, provide warmth and fresh air and seek immediate medical attention.
-
Do not move the Candle Lamp once the Liquid Wax Candle inside has been lit. If you do need to move the Candle Lamp, please blow out the flame, move the lamp and then relight it.
-
Always ensure complete and proper extinguishing of the flame prior to leaving the room or transporting a Liquid Wax Candle.
-
Take care that a match or other debris does not drop onto the Liquid Wax Candle flame. This debris can act as a second wick and subject the lamp to additional heat stress.
-
Lumea Candle Lamps are a decorative object not a toy – never play with them!
- Lumea’s flame retardant polycarbonate Candle Lamps are treated to withstand a certain level of heat. However, these items will burn/melt if placed directly into a flame so please do not tamper with the Candle Lamp as it is intended to be used.
